watercolor practice 2

I decided to try watercolor with the sketch I did a few days ago (click). It's on super cheap watercolor paper and I can't say I like the texture. it's not very obvious until it's been scanned.

Getting back in the groove

It's been a while since I drew anything and I made a promise to myself to never let it happen again. This is based off of this photo: (click). I tried to stylize it a bit from the photo. Will probably make this into a watercolor painting later this week.

watercolor practice

I finally bought my own scanner and it arrived in the mail today. This gives me even less incentive to leave my room....

I got extremely frustrated with painting clothes so I kind of just gave up on it...I'll save it for a different day. I think I'm done with the portrait. I'm running into the problem where the more i work on it, the less I like so I guess this is a good stopping point. 

photoshop portrait practice--work in progress

Just experimenting with painting in photoshop. I think this is the most successful I have been with digital painting. Hopefully the finished portrait will turn out well.

illustrator practice

I turned one of the bird sketches into an illustrator drawing for my vector imaging class. I still don't really get shapes but I think this is a step towards the right direction...
